Entering the SUV class was a huge step for Aston Martin. However, the British carmaker is not going to stop there. Chiefs ordered a new unit – a seven-seater. The 2022 Aston Martin DBX will fit the third row and two additional spots. However, we still don’t know how it will look like. Further rumors also add a more aggressive coupe styling is also arriving in 2022. These two additions will make the DBX a competitor in various classes. Still, its price remains the stumbling block for most buyers.
So, with three styles, Aston Martin is ready for the next chapter in the company’s history. New models will cost more than the base one, pushing the DBX out of limits. On the other hand, the brand is more for the show-off, so we can recommend many other, better vehicles. But if you want the SUV that shows how successful you are, then the 2022 Aston Martin DBX will be the right choice, standard, coupe, or seven-seater.
New Body Styles
Bentley and Rolls Royce are already in the SUV market. Luxury brands delivered a single vehicle each, with one body style and power source. Of course, there are variations and additional features, like the $225,000 Tourbillion clock for Cullinan. So, Aston Martin wants to bring more. The DBX is as luxurious as its rivals. But, the coupe and seven-seat layout will put the British manufacturer in new realms.
Coupe cuts down space behind the rear row. Even passengers will notice the lack of headroom. On the other hand, the look is more aggressive, which will draw the attention of younger buyers. On the other hand, the 2022 Aston Martin DBX Coupe will face new rivals. Mercedes GLE and GLS, BMW X6, and Porsche Cayenne are dominant in this market. Aston Martin can beat their luxury offer, but it is questionable how it can cope with better prices.
There are even more premium SUVs with three rows of seats, which cost way cheaper. However, the interior of the 2022 Aston Martin DBX seven-seater will make you feel like home. It will be a house on wheels. With all the premium materials and advanced gadgets, the carmaker is about to offer, you can probably live here.
2022 Aston Martin DBX Specs
The British carmaker is not making engines. So, for their premium model, they search for a partner that can deliver a powerplant suitable to other characteristics. It was not hard to find it in Germany. Mercedes AMG department produces a mighty 4.0-liter drivetrain. This engine will be the source of power for the entire 2022 Aston Martin DBX lineup, including coupe and a seven-seater. The hand-crafted unit is delivering 542 hp and 515 lb-ft of torque. It makes DBX powerful and quick. Experts estimate acceleration 0-60 mph will take 4.3 seconds. The vehicle might reach 185 mph of top speed. A nine-pace automatic gearbox is a power router.
The company has worked on other parts too. This is a totally new class for it and fans, so the lifted ride is quite a surprise. The architecture is the same, as for other models by this company. Adaptive dampers and air spring are not the parts we meet every day in the Aston Martin lineup. Its cargo area is the biggest ever seen by this brand and towing capacity is a word we didn’t use speaking of other cars. Now, the 2022 Aston Martin DBX can tow up to 6,000 pounds. We’ll see if anything changes for the Coupe and Seven-Seater.
2022 Aston Martin DBX Price
The new SUV is not out yet, even in the base form. However, everything is ready for the debut, and DBX will be presented at the very first car shows when the situation with COVID-19 cools down. But, when it shows up at dealerships, its price will stun you. The SUV will be just shy of $200,000 without any upgrades. So, any small addition will breach this mark.
The coupe comes with the revisited exterior styling. The lack of space will be covered with extra features. On the other hand, the three-row DBX offers more interior room. In both cases, the price will go up. We expect it to start at $210,000.
Release Date (Seven Seater and Coupe)
So, we expect the base SUV pretty soon. And what about two new versions? These are planned for the 2022 season. However, with a delay in the debut of the standard vehicle, it is questionable if the 2022 Aston Martin DBX Coupe and Seven-Seater will appear only as concepts, or the production could start the same year.
