2022 Audi Q3 RS

The 2022 Audi Q3 will be updated for the first time since the arrival of the second generation in 2018. The German carmaker is preparing a serious dose of changes for the subcompact crossover. Thanks to its size, the Q3 became one of the favorite vehicles for urban streets. Agility and a nice amount of power are making it wanted. On the other hand, the gas mileage is acceptable and the premium offer includes many advanced options. Unfortunately, there is no hybrid configuration, but the E-Tron all-electric crossover might join the lineup soon. It might happen already in 2022.

Another good reason why to buy the 2022 Audi Q3 will be its value. The predecessor was priced at the same level as most rivals, but the base package offered more features. Buyers praised technology and safety systems, which are a step ahead of the competition. There is no reason why Audi is not continuing to dominate in these segments. All-wheel drive is standard, for example. The interior is pretty spacious and comfortable for the subcompact SUV. Well, there are some lacks the upcoming Q3 needs to fix. For example, the transmission is not working smoothly every time. Also, you won’t see a performance model in the lineup, although the S package is there. A hybrid would also be a cool addition.

2022 Audi Q3 Engines (USA vs Other Versions)

The only available petrol powertrain for the US model is still a 2.0-liter turbo-four. Audi makes the Quattro AWD standard. Most other luxury crossovers from this segment are offering all-wheel drive either as the optional upgrade or with higher-end packages. A 2.0 unit is good for 228 hp and 258 lb-ft, which is something we can expect from a subcompact premium SUV. An eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox is sending power to all four corners. We expect improvements in the gas mileage part.

One of the options is to bring a hybrid configuration. But, the company is not unveiling detailed plans. Buyers in other parts of the world will find the 2022 Audi Q3 with other powertrains. For example, a 1.5-liter petrol mill is quite popular. A TFSI configuration is producing 150 horsepower and 185 lb-ft. Another solution is a diesel setup, centered around a 2.0-liter turbo engine. It creates 140 hp and 235 lb-ft. Outside the US we can find a model many fans would like to see overseas. That is the Q3 RS with a 2.5-liter powerplant under the bonnet. Engineers didn’t save the drivetrain, which will burst 400 ponies and 355 lb-ft of torque. The RS model beats the major competition – BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA.
