This is not the first time the nameplate is being used. Well, it is a kind of a trend to bring back old vehicles with a new styling and updated engines. Two decades ago, the Terracan was a mean SUV. The main task is to keep the power outputs at the high level. Most big rigs are able to create about 400 hp or more. The largest unit in Hyundai’s lineup is a new 3.8-liter V6, debuted on the Palisade mid-size SUV. According to old rumors, the company is working on a twin-turbo version of a 3.3-liter displacement, which could lead to 370-400 horsepower range. Well, for a while we haven’t heard any sign of development. Another source claimed the Genesis is about to introduce a 5.0-liter V8 unit with 450 horsepower. This would be a perfect fit for the 2022 Hyundai Terracan.
Expectations
The SUV is going to be more spacious than the Palisade. But, expect a similar styling language for both Hyundai models. Bold fascia and the interior that offers some advanced options are coming for sure. Still, the company will surprise its fans with a few novelties. We might see more aid for the driver, latest safety and infotainment accessories, hands-free tailgate… The 2022 Hyundai Terracan might also offer eight-seat layout in three rows. Captain’s chairs in the middle row would be a great high-end option. It will all affect the price, which should start under $50,000. Hyundai is a bit cheaper than rivals, but offers more with its products.
