2023 Buick Envision redesign

The 2023 Buick Envision is still a mid-range offer in the lineup. It is bigger than Encore but smaller than Enclave. Nevertheless, Buick could add one more SUV to the squad. For some while, we are expecting the production of the Enspire electric model, but another concept came out recently. In 2024, the company is going to add Electra. Well, this is the future of the entire automotive industry. It is just a matter of time before EVs are going to take control of the market.

Until this happens, drivers will still be keener toward conventional powertrains and engines with internal combustion. Changes on the 2023 Buick Envision will be minor. The company could add the GX version and position it between the base model and mid-size Enclave. This package had a huge success on the subcompact Encore. We’ll see what’s the idea for the Envision GX. The engine remains the same and the crossover doesn’t offer a hybrid unit.

Three packages from the current version are going to be carried over to the new Envision. Those are Preferred, Essence and Avenir. We also expect a debut of the 2023 Buick Envision GX. But, this one should be slightly different, and probably a completely new vehicle, not just trim levels.

Buying the base model brings LED lamps, roof rails, parking sensors, and keyless entry. The center of infotainment system is an eight-inch display, and OnStar services are also available. Wireless smartphone integration is standard. The audio system is basic with 6 speakers. Optionally, you can add Comfort and Convenience bundles.

The 2023 Envision Essence adds those upgrades, plus a larger display, driver’s bucket memory position, and power-adjustable seats. For this trim, the optional package is Sport Touring with 20-inch wheels, black details, and sports pedals.

The 2023 Buick Envision Avenir will still be the top of the range model with Bose Audio, navigation and HUD. Seats are both heated and ventilated. The final stage of upgrades for the driver’s bucket is a massage function. Optionally, you can upgrade the Tech package to the next level. Automatic parking is also part of the Avenir bundle.

2023 Buick Envision GX: When It Will Be Available?

After the success on the smaller Encore, General Motors is going to expand the lineup. The 2023 Buick Envision GX is a favorite to be the next model with this badge. Still, it is not going to be a trim level of the base version, but a totally new vehicle. The subcompact Encore became larger with the GX upgrades. Experts believe that Envision GX could go the same way. Of course, unique interior and exterior changes will distance this crossover from the original one. We are going to analyze it deeper in another review. For now, there are not too many reliable sources to provide details about the 2023 Buick Envision GX.

Engine, Specs, No Hybrid Model

Under the bonnet of the 2023 Buick Envision is still a 2.0-liter turbo engine. it is one of the reasons why this crossover is more expensive than the competition. It is considered as a vehicle between standard and luxury classes. A powerplant can create 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, making it very competitive in the market. A nine-speed auto transmission works smoothly. Start/stop system is saving some fuel, but it can be annoying. Still, you can switch it off. The gas mileage is good, but the new Envision might even improve it.

On the other hand, the company is not going to add the 2023 Buick Envision Hybrid, that is for sure. The focus is now on the Electra EV. Envision is not alone, since GM skips hybridization of their vehicles and jumped to the total electrification instead. Electra is the first Buick EV concept. It joins the rest of this lineup that includes Cadillac Lyriq, Chevy Bolt and Hummer EUT.

Release Date and Price

Minor changes don’t require too many checks and tests, so we can say that 2023 Envision can be out at any time. On the other hand, if the company brings the GX, it can be in 2023. Nevertheless, the standard lineup won’t have too many things in common with the new model.

The price of the Envision SUV stays put. The MSRP of the base Preferred package is around $33,000. The Essence adds about $3,000 and Avenir is above $40,000. Al-wheel drive is a $3,500 upgrade. Two lower-tier trims are available with six paintjobs. Summit White is free, while you need to pay $500 for either of those: Sapphire, Ebony Twilight, Cinnabar, Satin Steel and Burnished Bronze. For the Avenir, Rich Garnet replaces the Burnished Bronze color.
