The vehicle belongs to the mid-size class. Some consider it as the compact crossover because it doesn’t offer the third row. For better gas mileage, the company installs a cylinder deactivation system, both for four- and six-cylinder units. A smaller block is good for 24 mpg combined, or 23 mpg if you select an AWD.
A V6 is going to consume more gas. A 3.6-liter mill can return 18/26 mpg, but it also creates 310 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. It is a favorite among fans since the mid-size SUV needs power for a smooth ride. That is exactly what a six-cylinder unit is providing, alongside 3,500 lbs of towing capacity. In the base form, the XT5 can tow only 1,000 pounds.
2023 Cadillac XT5 Changes
Another redesign will take place on the 2023 Cadillac XT5 if it gets an EV. On the other hand, the SUV will be the same if there are no key changes under the hood. The latest update happened in 2020, which was slowed down by the COVID-19 outburst. So, the company might leave it for a while. On the other hand, small modifications will keep the XT5 fresh and attractive to buyers. Be sure that more trims are going to be available for choosing.
Currently, the base version is XT5 Luxury and it makes the SUV pretty luxurious with leatherette buckets, which will also offer you heating. Outside, the highlight is a set of 18-inch wheels. If you upgrade an offer to the Premium Luxury level, real leather seats, wireless charger, and panoramic sunroof are the most notable upgrades. Also, the company is working on improved safety. In the future, Super Cruise control might become a part of the offer.
The Sport version is coming back for the 2023 Cadillac XT5, that is for sure. Besides a V6 engine, this one is also improving the drive system with the unique tuning of the suspension.
