By discontinuing the Journey, the company will save some manpower and capacities for Jeep Grand Cherokee, Durango, and Ram 1500. On the other hand, the spot is not going to be vacant. You can always cut one row from Durango or Grand Cherokee and get a mid-size SUV with extra space.

For example, the 2023 Journey would be lighter than the Durango, meaning you are getting a better gas mileage. But, the cost is paid with a lack of power and space inside the vehicle. Compared to compact crossovers, those are advantages. Nevertheless, the SUV costs more and consumes more fuel. The best way to think about this class is to compare sales and those numbers made a point why the Journey was discontinued.
2023 Dodge Journey Replacement
The comeback of the nameplate is not so likely to happen. We saw other Dodge vehicles being discontinued and never return.
