The fifth generation of the legendary SUV is still very attractive. And it is about to draw even more attention with the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Magneto electric version. This is the next step in the evolution of the SUV. We know it as the off-road expert. Now, the company is entering a new market. Being an EV is still a big deal. But, the electric vehicle capable of off-roading is a whole new dimension for all carmakers. Jeep is ready to set the challenge for Tesla, Ford, and others.
While the electric SUV is under the spotlight, let’s not forget other versions. Wrangler is a versatile model with a lot of things to offer. Last year, we saw it with a V8 engine. Nevertheless, the company didn’t confirm if the powerplant joined the lineup for good. If is always fun to build the Wrangler. The coolest option is a two-door model, which is also shorter than the standard Unlimited version.
All in all, the 2023 Jeep Wrangler will still be one of the favorite mid-size SUVs in the US. It is hard to believe that any other model can beat this one in off-roading. While Magneto is highly anticipated, the competition is not letting it go. We are seeing a new battle on the horizon, with an electric Hummer SUV also on the way.
2023 Jeep Wrangler Magneto Electric SUV
Not too many things are known about the EV vehicle. The company teased fans with the concept and most further details are speculations. Well, the pictured prototype is based on the Rubicon package, which is obvious. But, the range and other specs details about the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Magneto are yet to be announced.
Experts didn’t waste time and we already have a reason why the electric SUV appeared, although the FCA is not so into the electrification process. Ford delivered its Mach E EV SUV, and two more models are on the way – Rivian R1S and Hummer. Both will be off-road capable, which will threaten the supremacy of the Wrangler, even the conventional configuration. So, FCA had to react and the first idea of the electric model is here. Until the Magneto hits the production, designers will make a few revisits. For now, it is just a plan.

Unlimited vs Two-Door Wrangler
One of the first choices you will have to make is to buy a smaller, two-door version, perfect for off-road drive, or a versatile 2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited model. Of course, everything depends on the buyer’s needs and preferences. Actually, those two could be taken as totally different models.
The two-door version is more agile, consumes less fuel, and doesn’t offer a wide choice of engines. Plus, Magneto is designed for the larger edition. That is not all the Unlimited package is bringing. A choice between an open-roof and a closed cabin is there, and another engine is making a difference – a V8. Rubicon 392 is powered by a 6.4-liter engine and monster outputs are already drawing attention. Also, you will notice the price gap between SUVs. The two-door model starts from $29,000 and the Unlimited is probably adding $3,500-$4,000 in 2023.
A 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine is the base option and the most common choice. It delivers 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Both two- and four-door SUVs are going to offer a manual gearbox. Again, automatic is more popular. Optionally, you can purchase the 2023 Jeep Wrangler with a turbo-four system. A 2.0-liter engine is tuned to deliver 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Wrangler Unlimited is the only one to offer a diesel configuration centered around a 3.0-liter V6 mill. It can deliver 260 hp and 440 lb-ft of twist. We already mentioned the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 with a V8 engine that bursts 470 hp and 470 lb-ft. Engineers are not going further from there. The Hellcat engine is not an option for now.
2023 Jeep Wrangler Release Date
Since the base lineup is coming unchanged, the price of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler will stay put. The release date depends on the Magneto model. The development of the electric vehicle is not easy, so engineers will need some time. On the other hand, it is not yet confirmed that EV is going to production so soon. A debut of the concept is more likely.
