Ever since its appearance, the new SUV by Kia is drawing attention. The Korean company upgraded the lineup with the largest model in the lineup. Plus, the biggest advantage is an extended warranty, which makes the 2023 Kia Telluride one of the best buys. The redesign is not on the schedule yet, but the next update is bringing big changes. It will happen after 2023 YM, so many buyers will probably skip this version. On the other hand, those who intend to get it can expect more features at the same prices we can see on the current edition.
Under the bonnet of the SUV is a potent V6 powerplant. However, engineers have to add an alternative. Speculations say a turbo-four is not a likely option. Instead, the company will look for the 2023 Kia Telluride Hybrid. That is something worth waiting. Other changes include features reshuffle in all trim levels. Four packages are ready and we expect updates about the Nightfall Edition carry over.
When Will 2023 Kia Telluride Be Available?
The new version is coming without big changes. So, the company is not going to postpone the debut. On the other hand, the 2023 Kia Telluride release date depends on the hybrid drivetrain. If this version is ready for a debut, the sales could start in the final quarter of 2022. The price stays put for the versions we can already see.
There is no room for a price increase. The market is recovering from the coronavirus pandemic and buyers won’t pay more for the same vehicle. So, the base models stay under $33,000, while you can spend $15,000 more on various upgrades. All-wheel drive is a $2k option. The hybrid model’s price is going to depend on the configuration the vehicle is about to use.
So, a 3.8-liter V6 is a certain choice for the upcoming SUV. The company is not planning updates on the drivetrain, so a six-pot mill will deliver 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed gearbox sends the power to the front wheels, while the AWD is an optional upgrade. It will increase the fuel consumption from 20/26 mpg to 19/24 mpg. The towing capacity of the 2023 Kia Telluride is 5,000 pounds, which is the class average.
2023 Kia Telluride Hybrid
The same transmission is going to forward power to wheels when the 2023 Kia Telluride Hybrid happens. Still, we don’t know what kind of an engine the system is about to use. It is expected to see an existing V6 upgraded with electric batteries. Comparing to some other similar vehicles, the outputs could be between 305 and 320 hp. The main boost comes from the gas mileage. The new Telluride Hybrid is going to improve the fuel economy in the city. Another possibility is to see a four-cylinder engine. In that case, electric support will have to bring more power. Such a configuration would be more fuel-efficient, with the gas mileage over 30 mpg. But, the performance would suffer for sure.
2023 Kia Telluride Versions
The 2023 Kia Telluride is nicely equipped, even on the base LX trim. A set of 18-inch wheels is standard and the seating capacity offers eight spots. Dual-zone climate control, 10-inch screen, six-speaker audio, five USB charging ports and power driver seat are the highlights. In the safety package, we find adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitor, and lane-keep assist. The Telluride S adds larger wheels, a moonroof, and heated front seats. Eye-catching exterior details are the chromed details and twin exhaust tip. The EX brings a hands-free tailgate, leather upholstery, ventilated seats with a power adjusting system, better noise isolation, and a few more cool upgrades. The Premium package is optional. Here, the second-row bench turns into a couple of captain’s chairs and decreases the seating capacity to seven. Harman Kardon delivers 10-speaker audio.
The high-end option is the 2023 Kia Telluride SX. Buyers will get all the features from the LX. The LED headlights will introduce a high and low-beam system. A dual-panel sunroof is making a ride more pleasant. Instrument cluster is larger and driver’s bucket features more memory settings. A 10-speaker audio is a premium option. Cameras are covering blind spot and surroundings. Parking sensors are standard. Optionally, buyers can pick Prestige bundle with genuine leather, HUD, automatic wipers, ventilated rear seats, and ambient lighting. The towing package adds auto-leveling rear suspension and tow hitch. The latest addition is the Nightfall edition with special details painted in black.
