2024 Full-Size Luxury SUVs

Changes in the luxury SUV market are frequent nowadays. We find news every day. The newest model is Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Lexus LX went through the big update. Next year, the next-gen Infiniti QX80 is coming. Then, Toyota dropped Land Cruiser from the US dealerships. It won’t be back so soon. But, we are looking beyond the next season. Let’s check what are the expectations from the 2024 full-size luxury SUVs market.

2024 Infiniti QX80 Monograph

The all-new 2024 Infiniti QX80 Monograph SUV is going to be the freshest model in the market. For now, this is the oldest vehicle, with the current generation running for more than 10 years. But, the new Monograph concept triggers the changes. The platform is showed before the COVID pandemic, so we had to wait a bit longer to see the new QX80. Before the big rig, the QX60 arrived with some pieces of the Monograph concept.

The release date is not set yet, but the SUV should be out as the 2023 YM. A small delay could make the 2024 Infiniti QX80 Monograph a totally new model. Anyway, plenty of changes will make this SUV very interesting. We can guess that QX80 is picking up the styling solutions from the futuristic concept. Plus, changes in the engine room are expected. A V8 is a reliable partner, but it is time for something more efficient.

2024 Lexus LX 600

The LX was older than the QX80. But now, it is an all-new SUV debuted as the 2022 YM. Well, it is not expected to see changes on the fresh model after only two years. The 2024 Lexus LX 600 wears a new badge. For a long time, experts were guessing what the number in the nameplate indicates. Usually, it was the displacement. Now, there is no relation.

The LX 600 is out with a fresh design. It continues the legacy with very aggressive and bold styling. The interior is also updated with new infotainment features and seating layout. The LX is still a three-row SUV, although we had to wait for a long time to see it. Now, it is the standard configuration.

The most notable change is under the hood. Instead of a 5.7-liter V8, the SUV is using a new twin-turbo V6, with a code name I-Force. The vehicle is lighter and the gas mileage is way better than 16 mpg. Unfortunately, the price is up, so the fuel economy savings won’t cover the difference so fast.

2024 Land Rover Range Rover

The 2024 Land Rover Range Rover is also coming without changes. The vehicle debuted this year. Well, the company discontinued some engines. A diesel configuration is not coming back for the US market. On the other hand, it was a surprise not to see a hybrid version on the all-new Range Rover. Also, an old infotainment system is somehow fracturing the overall impression.

We are sure the British company will fix those issues. By then, we know that Range Rover is definitely using a 4.4-liter V8 engine with 523 hp. It is also one of the novelties the new generation brought. Previously, the most powerful configuration was a 5.0-liter V8. The price of the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover is definitely the biggest downside. The base model is in the six-digit realm, while the high-end versions are priced around $165,000, for now.

2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

After years of waiting, the Grand Wagoneer is finally out and it will be part of the 2024 full-size luxury SUVs world. We are not talking about the old model, discontinued 30 years ago. Stories about the comeback were swirling since 2015 or 2016. Rumors guessed that the SUV is going to take a slot in the full-size segment. But, enthusiasts were a bit surprised to see the Grand Wagoneer as a luxury model.

The styling of the 2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is eye-catching. The interior is spacious and comfortable. Maximum cargo space stretches to 116 cubic feet. The price starts at just under $90,000. Under the hood is a 6.4-liter Hemi V8. Since the 2024 full-size luxury SUVs market could be refreshed, Jeep has an ace upon the sleeve for its model. The Hellcat engine would be the ultimate upgrade for the new premium SUV.

2024 Cadillac Escalade

Escalade is still the best-selling model in the full-size luxury SUV world. General Motors updated the vehicle in 2021, and that generation is still running. In the foreseeable future, we might see an electric version of the 2024 Cadillac Escalade. Well, the company is electrifying everything, so you can say that for any of their vehicles and not be too wrong.

The Escalade-V is joining the lineup as the new most-powerful 2024 full-size luxury SUVs model. A supercharged V8 engine is now delivering 682 horsepower, and only Jeep Grand Wagoneer Hellcat threats to top that. The price of the new version for the 2024 season will be $150,000. The base model costs just under $80,000. There is also a long-wheelbase version, Escalade ESV, and the truck EXT is not coming back.

2024 Mercedes GLS

The German manufacturer is preparing the big update for the GLS. In the past few years, we saw only minor updates. After four seasons in the production, the big rig is ready for the revisit. Nevertheless, do not expect a big upgrade. The styling remains pretty much the same, as well as the engine choices. More options will be available across all trim levels.

The base 2024 Mercedes GLS will keep the price around $80,000. However, this version is coming out with an inline-six engine. It still can produce 360 hp and 390 lb-ft. But, fans expect more from the German carmaker. Instead of the AMG package, the full-size SUV is getting something even more impressive. The 2024 Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 tops the range with a twin-turbo V8 engine, 550 horsepower, and $160,000 price tag. It is one of the most luxurious vehicles on this list.

2024 BMW X7

The update of the GLS was the answer to the new move by the competition. BMW launched its full-size SUV in 2019 and it immediately drew the attention. Now, the 2024 BMW X7 might bring the first update. Well, the vehicle received good critics. Nevertheless, there is always room for improvement. Like Mercedes, the Bavarian company didn’t want to go with the classic high-end M Performance package. Instead, the most expensive version of the SUV is Alpina XB7.

That is not the only similarity. The base version is using a six-pot engine, which makes the price go down, but doesn’t impress. On the other hand, the M50i is a $25,000 upgrade. It brings a V8 engine with 523 horsepower. Only XB7 tops that with the configuration that squeezes 613 hp from a 4.4-liter displacement. Again, we have to compare it to Mercedes, and BMW sells its most expensive model for $141,000, nearly $20k less than GLS Maybach.

2024 Lincoln Navigator

We expect the most from the 2024 Lincoln Navigator. This SUV is currently the oldest on the list. The latest generation of the luxury vehicle came out in 2018, and ever since we saw no major change. So, the mid-cycle refresh is a priority. A fresh look, revisited interior, and maybe retuned engine will make the Navigator more competitive. And let’s not forget – new Black Label themes would be great.

Experts believe that the PHEV configuration is on the way. The SUV is using a turbocharged V6 engine capable of producing 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque, which are not bad outputs. Its smaller sibling, Lincoln Aviator, is available with a hybridized 3.0-liter engine and cracks nearly 500 horsepower. A 3.5-liter displacement boosted by the PHEV system could make the new Navigator one of the most potent 2024 full-size luxury SUVs.

2024 Toyota Land Cruiser

The new generation of the Land Cruiser is finally out… but, not for the US buyers. The company discontinued the vehicle in order to make more room for the Lexus LX 600. Nevertheless, the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 will be available in other markets and enthusiasts believe the carmaker could change its mind about the iconic SUV.

The Land Cruiser will use the same engine as LX 600. Toyota says it is a 3.5-liter displacement, although experts say that 3,445 cubic centimeters should be considered as a 3.4-liter engine. But, those are small things. The SUV is laying on the all-new platform, it is lighter and more efficient than before. With the updated styling, in and out, the company fixed all the biggest issues of the previous generation. The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser will remain one of the best off-road SUVs, not only in the full-size luxury market but overall.

2024 Audi Q9

After BMW stepped into the new class, the third big German carmaker is about to do the same. The Q9 is a free slot in the lineup and we see it as a member of the 2024 full-size luxury SUVs world. There is no official statement, but we know Audi is filling the roster in the Q segment. The Q4 Sportback is already out, leaving vacant positions only for Q6 and Q9 nameplates.

The carmaker can be competitive in this market, for sure. Still, there are a few other vehicles under Audi’s roof, very luxurious and powerful, but none of them is a full-size model. The Q9 should be longer than Q7 and Q8. With an overall length of 200+ inches, it will definitely provide a lot of space for passengers and cargo. Expect Audi to follow the footsteps of its archrivals – the base Q9 will probably use a six-cylinder engine and come with a price of around $80,000. A V8 is also ready to be deployed, but for such a version, assume the MSRP starts at $100,000.

2024 Volvo XC100

There are a lot of reasons to believe that Audi will launch the Q9. On the other hand, besides a rumor, there are no too many things that make us believe in the 2024 Volvo XC100. But, we will still mention it as one of the 2024 full-size luxury SUVs.

First, the Swedish company is already producing a mid-size SUV. Nevertheless, there are a lot of improvements needed to debut in the higher league. The XC90 is still using a four-cylinder engine. The XC100 would need at least a turbo-six. Plus, the carmaker is more focused on electrification, rather than the expansion to the full-size segment. But, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Rumors didn’t start without a reason.
