Fans expected it earlier, then when the redesign was announced, but the company is yet to launch the special edition. Do not mix it with the N Line. The Tucson N is going to upgrade the performance.
Meanwhile, Hyundai joined the exclusive club of carmakers, producing crossovers with 38+ mpg. The 2024 Hyundai Tucson hybrid can do it. The next step is the plug-in variant, and eventually an all-electric Tucson. This is not a new world for the Korean company. Kona is the EV with the best sales around the world.
Changes: Performance 2024 Hyundai Tucson N Set for Debut
It is hard to miss the crossover with the eye-catching front grille and unique headlight design. But, we already got used to its unique appearance. The fourth generation of the vehicle continues the legacy and stays one of the best models in the market. Since the first generation, Tucson was interesting. A huge breakthrough the crossover had after the big redesign in 2009, when the name was changed to ix35. But now, we know it again as Tucson. Besides the new styling, the Korean company is ready to introduce another stunning feature to lure more buyers.
The 2024 Hyundai Tucson N is going to be the performance-oriented version. This badge is reserved for small vehicles for now. We have Veloster, Elantra, i20, i30 and Kona in the N family. The first one is probably the vehicle that can offer some engine solutions to the compact crossover. A 2.0-liter engine with 275 hp seems to be a perfect upgrade. The 0-60 mph time should drop to 6 seconds and the vehicle is coming with a lot crispier acceleration. Tuning includes special suspension, tires, exhaust system, and everything else a sport model needs. The Tucson N was spotted at the testing, but the company never released an official statement with the release date plans.
Specs
Until the new package shows up, the 2024 Hyundai Tucson will still use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit as the base engine. It delivers 187 hp and 182 lb-ft through an 8-speed automatic transmission. Buyers choose between front- and all-wheel drive. The gas mileage is not bad. This crossover can do 30 mpg combined (FWD), which is an excellent result for everyday commuting.
2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid, PHEV
The hybrid version was introduced with the new generation, and Hyundai didn’t fail to impress. Its configuration combines a 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor. The combo improves the power outputs to 226 hp, torque to 258 lb-ft, and what is more important, the gas mileage to 38 mpg. Kia Sportage is using a similar system and delivers even more miles per gallon. Still, this is going to be more than enough for city cruising. In this case, the system sends power to axles through a six-speed transfer case. According to estimations and current gas prices, the 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid can save at least $50 a month on the refuelling (average drive mileage).
Grades and Highlights
Five trim levels will be available for the upcoming crossover, without the still-unconfirmed 2024 Hyundai Tucson N. The SE is the base offer with 17-inch alloy rims, LED lights, 8-inch touchscreen and a 6-speaker sound system. The entry-level model features fatigue warning, lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control.
The SEL costs $1,500 more and for that money you are getting tinted rear windows, heated front seats, wireless charging, USB ports in the back, and blind-spot warning. Plus, the grade is eligible for further upgrades. Convenience and Premium package can improve the overall impression a lot.
The next trim level is the 2024 Hyundai Tucson XRT. This version is there to meet off-road demands. Still, Hyundai is far from the class-leading models in this segment. Still, the XRT adds 19-inch black wheels, special bumpers, side steps, roof rails and a tow hitch. Some advanced technology can be found inside, such as navigation on a large 10-inch screen.
The N Line is basically Tucson N without a high-output engine. A hands-free liftgate, panoramic sunroof, sport seats, wireless charger, and Bose audio are some of the features this package is offering. Plus, there are special interior and exterior details to make the N Line version more appealing.
Tucson Limited packs the most advanced options the company can offer. For example, you will find a heated steering wheel, paddle shifters, a memory setting on the driver’s seat, ventilated front row, a 360-degree camera, and many more. If you select the hybrid engine, the Blue Hybrid version is similar to the SEL, the SEL Convenience is the SEL for the petrol version plus the Convenience package, while Hybrid Limited is the same as the one on the 2.5-liter edition.
2024 Hyundai Tucson Pricing
As expected, the price of the redesigned crossover went up. Now, the offer starts just under $28,000 and the SEL is another configuration available under $30k. Pricing for the hybrid models starts from $33,000. Limited Hybrid is over $40,000, which is $3k more than the Limited trim with a petrol engine.
