Rumors about moving the entire Buick fleet to China are false. There is a future for this brand in the United States and the company denied speculations. Also, we have hints about the mid-cycle update of its largest SUV. The 2024 Buick Enclave is about to debut later this year. The company is also after an all-electric vehicle. That will be the fourth model in the crossover/SUV lineup.
After the changes, expect a more competitive vehicle. Enclave delivers pretty much the same options like its closest siblings, Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia. But, this brand is not as popular as other GM’s badges. Also, the carmaker invests more into the Chevrolet lineup.
Anyway, the 2024 Buick Enclave will still be an exciting SUV. Unique styling, but still with pedigree. Plus, there are two notable trim levels that can draw even more attention. Well, the Avenir is a grade you select from a list and the Enclave ST is an upgrade package available only for the base version. A V6 engine is still the only option.
For the 2024 YM, we expect significant styling upgrades. Designers will revisit both the exterior and interior for the first time since 2018. Even the new generation is possible. Anyway, the Enclave is remaining a three-row mid-size SUV with an internal combustion engine. If the Buick gets an electric SUV, that should be Electra. For now, it is available only in China.
2024 Buick Enclave Specs
Under the hood of the 2024 Buick Enclave is a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 310 hp. The unit is reliable and delivers enough power for a three-row SUV. But, it is also pretty thirsty. The Enclave returns 18/26 mpg. If you select an all-wheel drive, even more fuel is used. A nine-speed automatic transmission is a power router.
An alternative is something the SUV needs desperately. Fans are happy with the existing drivetrain, which is, by the way, one of the best in the market. But, something else is needed to draw more buyers. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine is one of the most sensible alternatives. Fans wished for a hybrid or PHEV system. This is not going to happen. General Motors skipped this part and went straight to the electric realm. So, it is more likely to see the Enclave EV.
Grades and Accessories
The SUV is available in three trim levels, but also offers several interesting packages and optional features. Let’s start with an entry-level Essence grade. Highlights of this version are hands-free liftgate, leather seats, push-button start, heated front row, wireless charging pad and 3-zone climate control. So, the Enclave is going to be an upscale version of both GMC Acadia and Chevy Traverse, at least at the base form. On the safety end, the SUV offers a nice package of features including blind-spot alert and lane keep assist.
Like said, the Sport Touring package is probably one of the best upgrades you can get. It costs only $1,700 and adds unique wheels, a dark grille, and tailgate badges. Experience Buick is another cool package, but also more expensive. features you get are the moonroof and 20-inch wheels. You can also select the Tech package with cameras, or the Infotainment bundle with Bose audio and larger screens.
The 2024 Buick Enclave Premium uses some of those options, such as 360-degree camera or a 10-speaker Bose sound system. Notable upgrades are also memory setting for driver’s bucket, HUD, ventilated front row and heated rear seats, and digital rearview mirror. Optionally, you can add adaptive cruise controls, Experience Buick, or a Touring bundle.
2024 Buick Enclave Avenir
This grade quickly become a trademark of the Buick lineup, something like the Denali package for the GMC vehicles. With the 2024 Buick Enclave Avenir, you are getting most of the options from the Premium version, plus sunroof, navigation and adaptive cruise control. The autonomous drive controls the distance between your Enclave and the vehicle in the front. You can also add interior mats, roof rails, or assist steps. But, the ultimate upgrade is Avenir Technology set. Unique suspension setup and signature LED headlights are definitely making this SUV so special.
Prices
The base offer starts at $47,000 which already indicates that the SUV is somewhere between standard and luxury worlds. The 2024 Buick Enclave can gain $20,000 more in price with the Avenir package and all the options it includes.
