A fully electric version of the Chevrolet Tahoe could hit the market in 2024. If the rumors prove true, it will be General Motors’ largest SUV with an electric motor. The 2024 Chevy Tahoe is looking forward to being based on the Silverado EV platform and will likely use the same battery pack as the truck. But it will be more powerful thanks to software updates. The first Tahoe EV is expected to come with 790 hp and 880 lb-ft of torque. Of course, its closest sibling, Suburban, will get the same drivetrain.
It will accelerate to 60 miles per hour in 4.9 seconds, and its maximum towing capacity will be up to 10,000 lbs. This SUV should be able to travel up to 350 miles on a single charge. Like its smaller cousin, it will be equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Depending on the equipment, the price for the 2024 Chevy Tahoe EV should start at $105,000 and rise to $125,000.
2024 Chevy Tahoe Z71 Model
The Tahoe will be available in seven levels of equipment. One of them is the 2024 Chevy Tahoe Z71, which has all-wheel drive and off-road capabilities. The interior will be very similar to the LT trim level and will have a new 12-inch digital display that can be reprogrammed to the driver’s preferences. A new infotainment system comes with a 12-speaker Bose audio and an 11-inch touch display in the center console. The standard equipment will also include wireless charging and leather seats with memory functions for the driver and front passenger.
But the most important thing about this package is its off-road capability, and it will add: 21-inch alloy all-terrain wheels. 2-speed transfer case with Low and high gear ratios, and unique front facia for a higher approaching angle. Electronic limited-slip differential is on the rear axle. Hill-descend control and adaptive air suspension are part of the package. Also, Z71 will include reinforcements on the bottom of the SUV and a side skirt plate. The grade will come with two options for the engine. The first will be a 5.3-liter V8 with 400 horsepower, while the second will be a 6.5-liter V8 with 480 horsepower. The base price will start at $65,000 and go up to $72,000 depending on the optional equipment.
2024 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid
General Motors could introduce a hybrid version of the Tahoe in 2024. It is expected to be built on an all-new platform and will include a new hybrid powertrain. The new engines, which GM is developing specifically for full-size SUVs like the Tahoe, will be introduced with a Chevy Tahoe in the last quarter of the year. There will be two motors under the hood of this powerful SUV. A gasoline V6 with 400 hp and an electric motor with 150 hp. It should come with an all-wheel drive in the standard package.
But changes will not only be made to the interior of the vehicle; Chevy has also made an effort on the outside to give this modern hybrid a futuristic appearance. Responsible for this are the new headlights and front mask, which will look more modern and aggressive than those of last year. A futuristic makeover will also be given to the rear light of the SUV. The gas mileage has not yet been determined, but we can make a guess. There is no doubt that the new hybrid powertrain will achieve better MPG than last year’s 3.0 diesel motor, and it should achieve a fuel economy of around 28 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway, but it will greatly depend on the vehicle’s driving mode.
2024 Chevy Tahoe Interior
The interior of the 2024 Chevy Tahoe will be largely determined by the equipment package. And it will be available in seven trims. The base model equipment will contain (LS): 3-Zone automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Day Lights, Power Adjustable Seats, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Furthermore, the LT will get an upgraded sound system that contains 10 Bose speakers, a bigger center console screen (from 10 inches to 12 inches), a hands-free power liftgate, a heated steering wheel, and 20-inch wheels.
The RST will primarily get visual upgrades such as 22-inch black alloy wheels, a black front grille, new leather seats, and heated mirrors.
Z71 and Hybrid trim we will skip because we already explained.
Premier should get a 360-degree camera, a blind spot detector, improved collision detection, sign reorganization, and a vibrating seat that alerts the driver of a possible crash.
The top-equipped model called High Country will be equipped with a rearview camera, a head-up display, 22-inch wheels, optional air ride, and a sunroof.
Release Date and Price
A new 2024 Chevy Tahoe will be released in mid-2023, and new hybrid and electric models should follow in Q4 of 2023. But, prices range from $55,000 for the base model to $85,000 for the High Country model. Finally, prices for hybrid and electric Tahoe should start at $105,000 and go up to $120.000.
