Things are a bit different in Australia and Southeast Asia, where people are still looking for simple SUVs, like truck-based machines that drive on an old-style body-on-frame platform. There are still numerous models of this type on the market and the 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is one of them. Created on the Mitsubishi L200/Triton pickup, it competes in the segment of mid-size SUVs, where some of the key competitors are models like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Everest etc. The next year shouldn’t bring any more significant changes, so it is expected the 2023 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport to be seen with familiar design and characteristics.

While the truck arises with good-old leaf springs, the Pajero Sport comes with free rear suspension, which delivers meaningfully better ride quality.
Bearing in mind that the contemporary generation is expected to endure in production for a few more years, we are pretty certain that the 2023 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport won’t derive with various changes. Nevertheless, we won’t eliminate the option of novelties in terms of new appearance packages. For instance, the 2022 model came with the new GSR version, with lots of high-class styling details. Thus, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see something alike in the next year as well.
Interior
The existing cabin looks lovely, despite the period. On the other hand, it is a truck-based SUV, which puts functionality over aesthetics. For that reason, the dashboard doesn’t look as glitzy as you would assume from a modern crossover. Most materials are firm to the touch but then again, everything seems great solid and very long-lasting. Correspondingly, it’s worth stating that the cabin comes full with a lot of standard equipment. All models originate standard with an 8-inch infotainment screen, as well as with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Besides, the list of standard equipment also contains goodies like push-button, parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation etc.
2023 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Engines
A famous 2.4-liter turbodiesel will remain the core choice for most drivers, thanks to its excessive balance between competence and efficiency. The engine develops around 135kW and 430 Nm of torque (180 hp and 317 lb-ft).
An older-generation 2.5-liter turbodiesel will continue to be available in some parts of the world. Its max outputs are 136 (101kW) horsepower and 324 Nm of torque. Moreover, the old 3.0-liter V6 can be found in come countries. This engine delivers 220 horsepower.
