2022 Lexus RX 350 redesign

The RX is the best-selling luxury SUV, with numbers that can stand against non-premium models. The versatility of the vehicle is incredible. The base version can be upgraded with the third row or a hybrid engine. Or both. Also, there is the F Sport package to enhance the offer even further. No other mid-size luxury SUV is coming with so many options. The 2022 Lexus RX 350 will be the entry-level model with a new look, according to the first information. The redesign takes place at the right time, and the SUV might start the fifth generation. The current one dates back from 2015.

The company will carry over all the things that make the SUV so special. Changes under the hood are not so likely to happen. We already wrote that the larger GX can get a new I-Force Max unit. Still, it will be too powerful for the 2022 Lexus RX 350. Still, compared to some other vehicles in the same class, especially German luxury SUVs, the Japanese model lacks power. 300-310 hp is good for the non-premium segment. We expect a mid-size luxury SUV with around 350 ponies at the base form. Check out the specs for the upcoming 2024 RX350.

2022 Lexus RX 350 Changes, Rumors

Although its sales are excellent, RX is going to be redesigned. Some experts think that Lexus gambles with this move, while others see it as an upgrade, a willingness to move forward, and bring new things to the market. Well, the competition is not sitting tight as well, so the next season is bringing the Acura MDX Type S and a powerful Lincoln Aviator hybrid. The Japanese company needs to respond. We found some details about the redesign plan of Toyota (Lexus owner). Still, there is no schedule for the luxury lineup.

The full-size LX is closest to the redesign. We already have a few pieces of information about its new name and drivetrain. Still, the expectations are the highest from the 2022 Lexus RX 350. Its look is not fresh anymore. Still, the appearance makes heads turn around. The spindle grille is the highlight and it can get a fresh design. If we must guess, the larger part is certainly the safe bet. Also, a new bumper and set of headlights will be there.

The F Sport model is not adding extra power. Still, its cosmetic enhancements will make the SUV more aggressive. Also, handling and maneuvering are impressive, which is the main reason why buyers are very happy with this model. As its name suggests, the suspension and interior are sportier than any other model in the lineup.

Specs, Hybrid

The base drivetrain for the 2022 Lexus RX 350 remains the same. There is no reason to replace a reliable and durable V6. It offers 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft, which is a good starter pack. The SUV also keeps the fuel economy on a good level, with 23 mpg combined, no matter if you select an FWD or AWD. An eight-speed gearbox is an automatic transmission with paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel. The F Sport version will drop the outputs a bit, but this model enhances the overall driving impression.

The hybrid engine appears under the hood of the 2022 Lexus RX 450h. In the combination with an electric motor, a V6 engine can produce 310 hp. Engineers might enhance the outputs to get it closer to 350 horsepower and become more competitive with German luxury SUVs. We can see moves within Toyota’s lineup every season, and the latest hybrid they brought is RX’s sibling from the non-premium squad, Highlander. Nevertheless, the luxury SUV is not going to sacrifice the power to gain extra mileage.

2022 Lexus RX 350L, Interior

The 2022 Lexus RX 350 will be a five-seater. If you want a higher capacity, look for the 2022 Lexus RX 350L model. It is a three-row seven-seater SUV. Still, the rear bench is not going to offer too much space, so it is not recommended for adults. On the other hand, the redesign could extend the vehicle, providing more room both for passengers and cargo.

The RX 350 will have Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and many other popular services available. Safety is already at a high level, and Lexus put the top priority on maintaining its reputation. The redesign will also hit the cabin, where new seats and layout are going to increase comfort. More driver-aid features will eventually lead to the autonomous driving system.

2022 Lexus RX 350 Price and Release Date

The new 2022 Lexus RX 350 will appear somewhere next season when the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic cools down. The price is going up after the redesign, but the entry-level models won’t go over $50,000. Another good thing about the mid-size SUV is that all the upgrades are not too expensive. So, the heavily-loaded RX, with F Sport and hybrid engine, or third row, is staying under $60,000.

  1. I would buy a new RX 350 today if it weren’t for the “big-mouth bass” grill in front. I’m also not particularly wild about the “harsh lines.” Will either of those things change in the near future? Does Lexus plan on continuing the RX 350 mode. I have a 2014 RX 350 with 95,000 miles, and I love it.

  2. I would buy a new Lexus if they brought back some better colors…such as the Cashmere color that I currently own. The beige color you’re offering currently is very unimpressive!
