Qashqai is one of the most popular models by Nissan that the Japanese company decided to carry it over to the US. Well, the vehicle for this part of the world is called Rogue Sport. Also, you won’t find a three-row version, unless you purchase Pathfinder SUV. The 2022 Nissan Qashqai redesign will bring a new look. Spy photos are fresh and the crossover was supposed to arrive as the 2021 YM. The pandemic of the COVID-19 virus postponed the premiere and production of the small SUV. But, the good thing is that designers have extra time to tune everything to perfection.
The 2022 Nissan Qashqai can also start a new generation since the current version dates back from 2013. A facelift and the Rogue Sport were upgrades for the 2017 season. Now, it is time for a new Qashqai, although the crossover manages to keep up with the competition. A 1.3-liter turbo engine is definitely going to be there, as well as the 1.6-liter dCi diesel. On the other hand, we expect a hybrid unit to debut with the 2022 YM.

We can compare the 2022 Nissan Qashqai with the Rogue, the company’s best-selling vehicle in the US. The compact crossover is heading to the new generation and a lot of details are already known. The vehicle was spotted a few times and Nissan is not hiding too many things anymore. The European best-seller might borrow some solutions from its American counterpart. But, Rogue is slightly larger and Nissan will try to keep both models original and unique.

Hybrid Engine to Replace Diesel
According to sources, the 2022 Nissan Qashqai Hybrid is going to use the e-Power concept. The company is using this system only in the homeland, where owners are praising the Nissan Note with this configuration. However, a lot of modifications are required and the crossover is going to need more power. Earlier, bosses confirmed that e-Power technology is coming to Europe in 2022. However, they didn’t mention which models are going to use it. As the most popular vehicle and availability of rivals with hybrid drivetrains, we believe that the Qashqai is getting the e-Power setup. Another option is to deploy the IMQ platform and deliver the PHEV engine. Specs are still unavailable. The good news is that the coronavirus situation is not delaying the progress of development.
Nissan will cut more diesel engines in the future. Currently, oil-burners are quite popular, but it is hard to meet emission standards nowadays. More markets are introducing new regulations and the development of filters and greener diesel units is pretty expensive. Plus, hybrid and electric models are going to replace them totally, sooner or later. Nissan recently brought the Ariya concept, another EV platform for compact crossovers. This one will underpin future Rogue, Juke, Kicks, Qashqai, when these vehicles get the electric battery as the only source of power.
2022 Nissan Qashqai 1.3 Specs
Definitely, the new configuration of a 1.3-liter engine is something worthy of mention. Engineers managed to improve efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions at the same time. This unit will be a good base for the new hybrid setup, for sure. The powerplant will be able to deliver 150 and 170 hp for the 2022 Nissan Qashqai. The engine has a new power router – a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Still, a manual stick remains the base option. Other petrol configurations include a 1.2-liter motor with 115 hp and a larger 1.6-l displacement that produces 165 ponies.
When Will 2022 Nissan Qashqai Be Available?
The new model was supposed to debut in 2021, but the 2022 Nissan Qashqai is bringing the redesign. We assume that the company is not going to wait for the debut and the crossover will be launched in mid-2021.
I have qashqai 2018 and we just love it and happy with it but we are waiting for new qashqai Hybrid 2022 with 1.3 L engine with hope of very efficient travels.
But we are very concern about price attached to that car because we are both retired but still would like to minimized air pollution.
