As many fans suspected – the new 2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara is coming out. But, it is not going to be just a larger version of the existing Vitara, but more luxurious. The premium model debuted in India, where the crossover is pretty popular. But, bosses from some other markets with big fan bases denied the arrival of Grand Vitara. For example, the vehicle won’t appear in Australia. In India, we’ll see the 2023 YM, which will then be available in other markets for the 2024 season.
So, in first place, the 2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara gains size compared to the standard crossover. The new vehicle is 7 inches longer, as well as taller and wider. 2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara Preview

But, the 2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara is not going to be its rival. Instead, the Japanese manufacturer is testing it at a very limited market. So far, we know it will be available in India. Fans from Pacific Asia are also expecting to see the new model in their showrooms. Australian department wrote off the debut in this country.
Dimensions and Upgrades
The 2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara will be 170 mm longer than the standard Vitara. It is also wider (20 mm) and taller (35 mm). Even the wheelbase is longer (2,6 m compared to 2.5 m).
Furthermore, that means more room inside the cabin. Still, the new SUV is not going to offer three rows of seats. But, there will be advanced technology, making the Grand Vitara more luxurious than the standard Vitara. The Indian debut gave us some hints, although packages can be different depending on the market. The SUV is definitely getting the widest driver’s display. A panoramic sunroof was shown at the premiere, although it might be an optional feature, as well as the head-up display. Grand Vitara comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto services, a wireless charging pad and heated/ventilated seats at higher grades. From what we saw, the SUV deserves the “Grand” prefix in its name to indicate an upscale position compared to the standard Vitara.
2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara Hybrid Engines
Not only that the new vehicle is bringing advanced technology inside the cockpit, but also under the hood. The 2024 Grand Vitara will use hybrid systems, and buyers in India can choose between two options. Different configurations are possible in other markets.
A 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine comes in a combo with an electric motor to improve fuel economy. Suzuki says this system will consume 3.7l/100km, or 63 mpg in US measures. It is quite incredible, but the outputs won’t be stunning. A CVT is a power router here, while the second setup deploys a standard six-speed automatic gearbox. Again, a 1.5-liter engine is a base for the hybrid package. This time, the MHEV model produces more power, but also consumes more fuel. Still, 5l/100 km (47 mpg) is more than any crossover currently available in the US can do. An all-wheel drive is optional. Of course, it makes the entire drivetrain less efficient, but the outputs are still stunning.
Standard Vitara is available with a 1.6-liter naturally-aspirated engine, and a 1.4-liter turbo-four unit. Grand Vitara won’t use them, since hybrid powerplants are way more efficient, regarding fuel consumption. But, some kind of a classic configuration might be available as an option for fans who dislike electric support.

The 2024 Suzuki Grand Vitara is just one of the novelties we expect from the Japanese carmaker. Vitara is also ready for the mid-cycle update, but fans will see that after the new Swift hatchback and S-Cross small crossover debut. Those two will be based on the same platform, so it is not a surprise why Suzuki is developing them together.
More important – the Japanese company started the electrification of their vehicles. First hybrids are out, and that is just the first step. Some EV concepts already exist for a long time. Now is the right moment for a breakthrough.
