The 2025 Buick Enclave might be an all-new vehicle. The current generation debuted in 2018 and we saw the first update last year (although there was a big pause in development and production during the COVID-19 breakout). So, after a few calm years without changes, the 2025 YM will be eligible for the next facelift, or even the new generation.
There is a reason for concern in the US. The popularity of Buick vehicles is growing in China and General Motors is moving most of the production there. The company is making more room in the US plants for more popular vehicles. Units built overseas will be much more expensive, and some even unavailable.
It is early to talk about the final version of the 2025 Buick Enclave when details are not official. We have some hints, so let’s analyze them.
All-New 2025 Buick Enclave
The carmaker is thinking about next moves, although the three-row SUV has just been updated. Most news we are currently getting from General Motors are about the electrification. Envista is the EV we could see in the foreseeable future. Enclave could go the same way, although not in 2025. Instead, fans will see a fresh look with more changes than in 2022.
The all-new Envision is coming in 2024 and it can show us what to expect from a larger SUV. Well, we can say that crossover is copying the Enclave and its large grille. But, the mid-size SUV could get an even bigger nose with more aesthetic lines. The interior will be spacious and seat 7 persons. Still, the rear row is suitable for children only. Details are unavailable yet. High-end versions, such as Avenir and ST, are getting Super Cruise for sure.
Engines and EV
The 2025 Buick Enclave is keeping a V6 engine. The focus is on electrification, so there won’t be changes in the base configuration. A 3.6-liter mill delivers 310 hp. Buick is considered as an upscale brand, so fans might expect a more potent powertrain. The V6 also creates 280 lb-ft and uses FWD. Buyers can also select an AWD. A 9-speed transmission sends power to front or both axles. Hybrid is not an option, neither does a performance system. Avenir or ST would welcome more potent setups.
Instead, GM will work on the electric powertrain. Buick has two EV concepts – the Wildcat coupe and the Envista crossover/SUV. Not only the 2025 Buick Enclave, but also Envision and Encore could become EVs in the foreseeable future. Specs are not available yet, but some expected range should be 200-300 miles for the entry-level configuration. General Motors has concepts that are able to take big electric motors with a 500+ miles of range. Besides that, the Enclave EV will feature a lot of advanced options and accessories. Ultra Cruise is the state-of-art autonomous drive technology, for example.
2025 Buick Enclave Avenir and ST
Buick made a statement when the Avenir package was introduced. Enclave and Envision are using this trim. Small Encore can be upgraded with the GX version. The 2025 Buick Enclave Avenir will continue to use panoramic moonroof, Super Cruise system and HUD as the top features. The grille is unique, as well as many details around the vehicle. Also, the interior offers special aluminum trims and gauges. Those are things that make the Avenir model jump up from the rest of the lineup.
But, there is a new trim level for the SUV – the 2025 Buick Enclave ST (Sport Touring). Again, a special grille is the first thing that indicates this is a different kind of vehicle. Then, there are blacked-out details, such as wheels and the ST badge. Sliding the second row makes the access to rear seats easier. The QuietTuning is the latest system of noise cancelation. This is one of the most quiet cabins in the market. Plus, you can enjoy in Bose audio, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless charging pad, and Amazon Alexa services. The safety is on a higher level with all the accessories that Enclave Sport Touring is offering.
2025 Buick Enclave Release Date
There is a long way to go until the new 2025 Buick Enclave debuts. The release date depends on many factors. The first is a level of changes it brings. If the Enclave is completely redesigned, then the company needs more time and the premiere is something special. Do not forget about the electric drivetrain. Also, the 2025 YM might be cut off from the US lineup. General Motors is revising the priorities and Buick is more popular in China than in its homeland. Since there are already some exclusive vehicles there, the SUV might be the next one.
Even small changes will lead to the price bump. The base version already costs more than some rivals. Avenir and ST are the best packages. The first one costs $57,000, $10k more than the Sport Touring trim.
