2022 Chevy Trax Specs
Under the bonnet of the 2022 Chevy Trax remains a 1.4-liter engine. Thanks to turbocharging, it can deliver 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. It is not a stunning result, but if you are looking for more, then a larger crossover is a better option. This is one of the reasons why Trax is going to be so affordable. The front-wheel drive system is getting power through a six-speed auto gearbox. Combined, the crossover returns 28 mpg, while on highways it hits 31 mpg. All-wheel drive is optional and it consumes nearly 10 percent more fuel (24/29 mpg).
Lack of options is one of the big downsides of the 2022 Trax. Another drivetrain would draw more buyers for sure. Experts are mentioning a hybrid unit, but it is unlikely to happen. Such setups are not too popular among fans of subcompact crossovers. Besides that, an all-electric Bolt is on the way. A more potent engine is something worthy of a shot. But, it won’t exceed 200 ponies. Could it be Trax SS? Well, not so likely, but kind of. Also, an off-road version would require specific upgrades in the drivetrain area.
Packages, Colors
Only two trim levels are there for sure. LS and LT are old members of the squad. The base version comes with a seven-inch screen and Wi-Fi. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Unfortunately, there is no zonal air conditioning. Other highlights are halogen headlamps, cloth seats, and 16-inch wheels. The 2022 Chevrolet Trax adds cruise control, remote start, leatherette seats, and LED DRLs. Cruise Control is the centerpiece of the driver’s aid package. Skid plates are painted in silver color. Heated outside mirrors are also added.
Eight exterior colors are available. The MSRP for the small crossover starts from $22,600. The LT is a $1,800 upgrade, while an all-wheel drive is going to cost you approximately the same. Redline Edition is a recommended upgrade for the 2022 Chevy Trax. The combination of black and red is more than appealing. It costs only $1,000.
